MANDY WILLIAMS

Graduating from the University of Huddersfield, Mandy explored the fashion industry for a period of time before she started her own studio. Having been drawn to art and painting at a very young age, she’s always been in love with serenity and very quiet surroundings when she paints. After working in different art industries and teaching in schools she realised that her fantasy had to become a reality, to have a space that she could both create and pass on her aesthetic and knowledge. That’s when she set up her art studio and finally had the freedom to create without rules, boundaries, protocols, and limitations. Exploring different cities and countries, she has always been inspired by different seascapes and their colours. Of her work she says “Indulging in looking at the beautiful seascapes and the movements of the current, it is a part of a therapy for living in a tense and fast paced city.”

Painting different shades of seascapes gives her serenity, not to be disturbed by any sound, any matter; nor connections, but to be in a zone of peace and concentration; showing the audience a different phase of her life with the texture of her artworks. Each work implies a phase she is experiencing. She projects them in a visual and tangible way. Listening to the sound of the waves lets her centre herself, to exclude the other sounds and to focus on creating the structure of the seascape as an enjoyable visual for everyone to find their serenity.
