The University of Wollongong College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) is thrilled to invite you to their artist opportunity to submit art work for consideration of purchase for our new collection entitled: "A Sense of Place".

Sense of Place refers to the emotive bonds and attachments people develop or experience in particular locations and environments, at scales ranging from the home to the nation. Sense of place is also used to describe the distinctiveness or unique character of a particular locality – in this case, Hong Kong.
Three distinct sub-themes emerge: land, sea and the urban environment.
This call for submission will be held in 2 phases with an initial selection occurring in June 2023 and a second selection in October 2023.

What they are looking for:
Painting, pastel, drawings, watercolor, mixed media, assemblage, photography, prints will be considered along with textile, fiber and etc. Hanging, floor or pedestal sculpture will not be considered.
Size:
All sizes will be considered, but please note - we have some very LARGE WALLS which can accommodate works as large as 200 cm in height and 200 cm (or more) in width. Smaller sizes will of course also be considered but our preference is for larger sized works.
Price:
We expect to purchase works priced between HKD 2,000 and up to HKD 30,000.
Submission
Artists are welcome to submit UP TO 3 pieces for consideration. Submissions for Round 1 should be stretched, framed (if needed) and ready for hanging. Submissions for Round 2 can be stretched and framed at a later date if necessary.

How to Apply
Submit a high quality jpg(s) of your work by email and include in the subject line "A Sense Of Place". For the photos, please include up to 3 images per artwork: one of overall, one of closeup detail, and one which will include the frame (if framed). Please also include: the size, retail price, title, medium and a brief artist biography. Email to:
