With an avid dedication to culture and community, The Hari Hong Kong is delighted to announce the return of The Hari Art Prize 2024 in collaboration with London-based art advisory, A Space For Art. This edition follows the remarkable success of the programme’s Hong Kong debut last year, which gathered over 260 talented artists from across the city.
The Hari Art Prize 2024 is open to all self-taught artists and recent art graduates within the first ten years of their art career. Submissions for the entry will open on 9 September 2024 before closing on 16 December 2024. To emphasise the city’s diverse artistic expressions, participating artists must be based in Hong Kong, although all genres and mediums of artwork are welcome.
Art has always been integral to The Hari Hong Kong’s ethos, intrinsically intertwined into every aspect of the brand. Each of the hotel’s thoughtfully designed modern spaces narrates an immersive story via an exceptional rota of artwork, carefully selected by A Space For Art. The Hari Art Prize underscores this unwavering passion for artistic creativity, simultaneously celebrating the local art community. This year, the distinguished judging panel of renowned industry figures will include, Dr. Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels, Charlie Smedley, Founder and Director of A Space For Art, Frankie Ho, Asia Retail Director of TASCHEN, Amanda Hon, Managing Director of Ben Brown Fine Arts, and Independent Curator Anqi Li. Winners of The Hari Art Prize 2024 will be announced in a special prize ceremony on 13 March 2025, hosted at The Hari Hong Kong. A showcase of the selected works will be presented on the day where the winner will receive a HK$100,000 cash award, generously donated by Dr. Aron Harilela. The first runner-up will be awarded a luxurious 2 Days 1 Night Corner Room Package, which includes daily breakfast and dinner for two at either Lucciola or Zoku. Meanwhile, the second runner-up will receive a similar 2 Days 1 Night Corner Room Package, with daily breakfast and a delightful set lunch for two at Lucciola or Zoku. The selected works will be exhibited at The Hari, while the shortlist artist will be showcased at the dedicated page at The Hari Art Prize website, where viewers can delve into the creative process behind each winning piece.
“We’re thrilled for the return of The Hari Art Prize 2024, especially after its successful debut in Hong Kong last year,” shares Dr. Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels Ltd. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for local talents to showcase their work and, at the same time, exemplifies the hotel’s spirit as a vibrant hub for art and culture which has always been important to The Hari brand.
